The &amp;quot;Operating System&amp;quot; is software shipped pre-installed into every DSi which allows the launching of games from an officially Nintendo certified game card, launching of Nintendo Certified &amp;quot;channels&amp;quot; and DSiWare titles. It run a similar GUI like the Wii.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The DSi runs in certain permission modes similar to the Wii where running backwards compatibility games turns off the extra hardware and clocks down the CPU.&lt;br /&gt;
